Gérard Bertrand ‘GrandTerroir – La Clape’ Syrah/Carignan/Mourvèdre 2015
AOC La Clape, France $18.95 (370262) 14.0% alcohol
Fresh, intense and lively aromas of piquant spice, minerality and dark berry fruit abound. A rich flow of crunchy red fruit—currant and cherry—hustles across the palate infused with excellent tangy acidity and wisps of soft, supple tannin. This is medium bodied with good texture and a dry, lip-smacking finish and aftertaste. Pour alongside pasta in tomato sauce or spaghetti in Bolognese sauce. (Vic Harradine)
