Dear winecurrent subscriber:

We have three important announcements

  • The first concerns the upcoming winecurrent newsletter. As often happens for this change-of-year tasting, the wines for the January 5 and January 19 releases are not offered to us for tasting until after the January 5 release. We’re aiming to have the newsletter to you on the weekend of January 12/13 and the next newsletter out a few days later, but in time for the January 19 Vintages release.

  • The second is in regard to the annual, much-anticipated California Wine Fair. All winecurrent subscribers will receive a $5 dollar price reduction on each ticket purchased for Toronto and/or Ottawa. No tickets are sold at the door. Here’s the skinny on this excellent tasting:

California Wine FairThe 2019 California Wine Fair Announces its Tour Schedule... and it’ll be the hottest ticket in town!

Winecurrent subscribers get a $5 discount on each ticket purchased for Ottawa and/or Toronto consumer tastings. Use promotional code: cwfwinecurrent

It often sells out, but never disappoints the crowd who attends. It’s arguably Canada’s best, and best-value, wine tasting. Tickets are NOW on sale! One entry price covers unlimited tasting samples from hundreds of wines along with a few nibblies. Spittoons are provided at each station in this walk-around tasting and you’re encouraged to use them and arrange for commercial or public transportation rather than driving. Please drink in moderation; never drink and drive.

In its 40th year, Canada’s largest Wine Fair Tour showcases some of the finest wines from the vineyards of the Golden State with over 450 wines from more than 150 wineries. There are trade and consumer tastings. Read more here about how and when you can attend.

  • The third is an outline of hours for LCBO retail stores for the holiday season:
