Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Paso Robles, California $19.95 (738823) 13.5% alcohol
Black plum, lilac and Asian spice aromas set the stage for a grand entrance of flavours—luscious ripe mulberry and juicy Bing cherry interlaced with roasted herbs, dark coffee and excellent, mouth-watering acidity. This showcases deft balance and judicious use of well-integrated oak from a cooler vintage that was handled with care with great results - Kudos. (Vic Harradine)

Viña Perez Cruz ‘Reserva’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
DO Maipo Alto, Chile $15.95 (694208) 13.5% alcohol
The cool, elevated Maipo Alto region is the sweet spot for premiere Chilean Cab. There’s a 3% splash of Syrah and 1% ripple of Carmenère in this mid-weight, beautifully textured, crowd-pleasing gem. Aromas of rich black fruit, sweet vanilla and toasty notes herald a river of black cherry, juicy and ripe mulberry on the palate infusing the long finish. It sports good depth, complexity, oodles of charm and great value. (Vic Harradine)
