• The white grape, rivaner, from which the following Black Tower is fashioned, is also known as the widely planted müller-thurgau. This bottle is decorated with colourful surfboards… remember the black ceramic bottles from back in the early 70s? In a pinch, a candle holder.

Product of Germany $8.95 (336503) 9.5% alcohol
Melon and aromas of soft citrus notes on the nose make way for slightly spritzy wash of honey, peach and pear flavours gliding over the palate smooth and mellow with no rough edges. It’s light on its feet with good mouthfeel and mid-length finish that’s balanced with a lovely bit of tang on the finish and aftertaste. Pour on its own as a value-packed sipper or pour with spicy Asian cuisine. (Vic Harradine)
